RESEARCH & TRAINING

  • Faculty members of the department have more than hundred of publications in various National and International Journals of repute, and continuously attending and presenting papers in various National and International Conferences every year, and some of them also got awards for best presentation.

  • Professor Naveen Krishan Goel has recently been awarded Felllowship of Indian Public Health Association (IPHA) in Calcutta in January, 2007.

  • A number of research projects in the Department have been completed and are under progress.

  • Department of Community Medicine is committed for better community health by means of teaching, training of UG, Interns & PGs and patient care at community level.

SERVICES

  • Comprehensive health care provided to Community at  Village Palsora through Rural Health Training Centre recently inagurated building by Administrator and to the Urban people through Urban health Training Centre at Sector 44, Chandigarh.

  • Investigation for Complete Blood Picture, Peripheral Smear for Malaria Parasites, Sputum for AFB, Lipidogram, Renalcomm3.jpg (47819 bytes) Function Test, Liver Function Test, ECG are available.

  • UHTC-44 & RHTC, Palsora are recognized as Microscopy Centre uder Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme.

  • Epidemiological Investigations of Outbreaks of communicable diseases
  • Imparting Health education/training to community & health functionaries

FUNCTIONS

  • Teaching and training to the Undergraduate (MBBS) students, interns and Postgraduate (MD) students.
  • Providing complete health care through Urban Health Training Centre, Sector 44 and Rural Health Training Centre Palsora.
  • Carrying out research
    - Departmental Projects;
    - Sponsored projects funded by national agencies
    - PG(MD) thesis

Various National Programmes viz Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme, Reproductive and Child Health, Pulse Polio Immunization etc are also implemented through the centres.

Urban Health Training Centre is provided Comprehensive health Care to the Community and Catering to population of  Sector 43, 44 & adjoining JJ Colony

Rural Health Training Centre is providing Comprehensive Health Care to the Community and Catering to population of village Palsora, Sector 56, adjoining J J Colonies and as well as Mohali, Phase 2.

       The Rural Health Training Centre is situated in Sector 56, Palsora
